Mira Marchenko’s Piano Masterclass in ZurichZurich, 08-13 November 2019

Mira Marchenko is considered one of the most accomplished piano pedagogues in the world today.

Since 1986 she is teaching piano at the Central Music School for gifted children in Moscow, where she also held the Piano Department Director’s position from 2016 until 2019. Many of her students are winners of various prestigious international competitions. They perform in the famous concert halls and music festivals globally and appear as soloists with the best orchestras in the world. In 2018 Ms. Marchenko started teaching at the Moscow State Conservatory.

Mira Marchenko graduated from the Central Music School in Moscow in 1981 and then continued her education at the Moscow State Conservatory, where she received all degrees, including the post graduate studies, training with the students of Nehaus, Oborin and Gilels, absorbing the traditions of the great Russian piano school.

Mira is the prizewinner of various competitions: the International Piano Competition in London and the All-Russian Competition of Piano Duets, to name a few. She participates regularly in international music festivals in Hungary, USA, Spain, Ukraine and Lithuania. Miroslava Marchenko gives a large number of solo and chamber music recitals and appears as a soloist with symphony orchestras. Her repertoire includes the widest range of musical and historical heritage – from baroque to modern times.

Ms. Marchenko actively collaborates with the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation and the “New Names” Foundation, directed by Denis Matsuev. She also serves as the chairwoman and member of juries at numerous competitions in Russia, Estonia and Azerbaijan, such as the International Competition “Golden Talents” (Kursk, Russia) and the Vladimir Krainev Moscow International Competition.

Among her students there are many winners of various international competitions in Great Britain, Holland, France, Germany and Italy. Many of her students are scholarship holders and active performers of the Spivakov Foundation and the “New Names” Foundation. Concerts of her studio are held in the best halls of Moscow and St. Petersburg. Pupils of Mira Marchenko take part in such major international festivals as the Verbier Music Festival and Salzburg Festival, and collaborate with such famous conductors as Spivakov, Gergiev and Fedoseev, to name a few.

A recipient of many awards for her pedagogical achievements, Mira Marchenko received the title of Honored Teacher of the Russian Federation in 2019.

Course Fees: 150 CHF per 45 minute lesson

Admission: Applicants between the ages of 6 and 18 are eligible to apply for participation. Participants will be chosen based on video recordings, which have to be submitted with the application form. The number of participants is limited.
